1947 snowfalls reported in The Advertiser (source Trove).

I found two reports in The Advertiser on one snow event in 1947, on 22-23 August.

Friday and Saturday 22nd and 23rd August: snow reported in the Mid-North on the Mt Bryan Range and at Belalie.

Coldest Day In August For 4 Years

With rain squalls and biting southerly winds reaching 52 miles an hour. Adelaide ex- perienced the coldest August day for four years on Saturday, when the maximum temperature was 53.1 degrees

During Friday night and early Saturday night a light fall of snow occurred at Mt Bryan, and snow fell at Belalie for about two hours.

Snowfall At Mt. Bryan
MOUNT BRYAN, August 25.
Snow which fell between the Razorback and Mount Bryan on Friday night remained on the hilltops throughout the following morning. It could be clearly seen from Burra. and was one of the heaviest falls in the district for a considerable time.

"Snow—the first this year—fell late last night at Belalie between Jamestown and Yongala. Speaking from Belalie tonight, Mrs. C. M. Prior, the postmaster's wife, said snow began to fall lightly at 11.30 p.m. and continued until about 1 a.m. Some of the snow was still about this morning."
